A stock chart is a time - and - price plot of a ticker's open, high, low, close, and volume. Vantafin's Charts page is a full - screen workspace for that plot: candlesticks, hollow candles, bars, line, area, and Heikin Ashi, with a left drawing rail, a watchlist dock, and split, earnings, and dividend markers on the series.
Anyone can open Charts without an account. Historical bars load for the symbol you search. Logged - out visitors and Free accounts see a 15 - minute delayed quote tail. Pro and Ultimate replace that tail with live quotes on 9,000+ tickers and unlock most drawing tools.
This tutorial is the click path, not a trading system. Vantafin is research data, not investment advice.
What is the Vantafin Charts page?
The Charts page is Vantafin's full - screen technical workspace at /app/charts. It defaults to NNVDA if you arrive with no symbol. You can deep - link with ?symbol=AAPL. Intervals in the toolbar are 1D, 1W, 1M, and 1Y. Chart types are Candles, Hollow candles, Bars, Line, Area, and Heikin Ashi.
Use it when the Overview chart on a company profile is too small and you want drawings, session shading, and a dock of names beside the pane.
How to open a chart and pick a ticker
- Open Charts from the sidebar.
- Click Search ticker (or start typing a symbol). Search is limited to names with live market data coverage.
- Select the company. The workspace loads OHLCV bars, the quote card, and event markers.
- Pick an interval chip: 1D for daily structure, 1W or 1M for swing context, 1Y for the long range.
- Open the chart - type menu and choose candles for classic OHLC, Heikin Ashi to smooth noise, or line/area for a cleaner path.
Hover a bar to read open, high, low, close, and volume. The measure tool (not Pro - gated) lets you span two points without committing a drawing.
Drawing tools (Pro)
The left rail holds cursor, trend line, ray, horizontal line, vertical line, rectangle, Fibonacci retracement, text, brush, and measure. Cursor and measure stay available on Free. The rest require Pro or Ultimate. Colors include blue, teal, red, orange, and purple, plus a high - contrast ink that follows light/dark theme.
Keep - drawing pins the tool so you can drop several lines without reselecting. Lock prevents accidental edits. Clear - all wipes the pane.
Drawings are for marking levels you already care about, not for generating signals. Pair a horizontal line on AAAPL with a price alert so you are not staring at the pane.
Delayed vs live quotes
| Plan | Chart history | Quote tail | Drawings | | - - - | - - - | - - - | - - - | | Anonymous / Free | Full OHLCV | 15 - minute delay | Cursor + measure | | Pro | Same bars | Live on 9k+ tickers | Full rail | | Ultimate | Same bars | Live | Full rail + higher API/chat caps |
Historical bars are the same dataset. The difference is the live tail and the overlay quote. If you see a delayed pill, you are not on a live Pro session.
Watchlist dock and the rest of the app
Toggle the watchlist dock to jump between names you already track. Build those lists in Watchlists. From a chart, open the company profile when you need filings, financials, or news, not another pane of price.
For metric - vs - metric work (revenue vs margin, several companies), use profile Charting at /app/{TICKER}/charting rather than Supercharts. Supercharts is price. Profile charting is fundamentals.
Next steps
- Connect a brokerage if you want the names you own next to the chart.
- Set price alerts so levels fire when you are away. - Compare plans on pricing.
