Insider transactions are trades and holdings reports that officers, directors, and certain large shareholders file with the SEC. Form 3 is the initial ownership statement. Form 4 is a change (buy or sell). Form 5 covers annual or deferred items. Vantafin lists them on Insider Transactions at /app/{TICKER}/insider - transactions, for example AAPL insider transactions.
This tab is Pro and equity - only. ETFs show holdings, not Form 4s. A cluster of buys or sells is a reason to open filings, not a buy or sell signal by itself. Vantafin is not investment advice.
The dedicated institutional - ownership page is a stub. Do not expect a finished 13F holder table there. For 13G/13D text, use the filings tab.
How to use the insider tab
- Open an equity profile.
- Go to Insider Transactions.
- Scan recent Form 4s: who, buy vs sell, size, date.
- Open the related 8-K or 10-Q if the print is large or clustered.
- Attach the ticker in AI Chat and ask for a summary of recent insider activity, then click through.
A market - wide insider feed exists on paid plans if you want more than one name at a time. REST /insider - transactions and MCP cover the same data for pipelines.
How to not fool yourself
- Option exercises and scheduled sales are not the same as an open - market panic sell.
- One Form 4 is noise. A cluster plus an 8-K is a research queue. - Still read the business: financials and the latest 10-Q.
