A research drive is private file storage inside the product, next to market data, so you can attach your memo to the same chat as a 10-K. Vantafin's drive is /app/files. It accepts PDFs, Office documents, and images. Files are a Pro feature. Storage is 500 MB on Pro and 1.5 GB on Ultimate.

Your uploads are private to your account. Prefer text - based PDFs. Scanned image PDFs are harder for Chat to read.

How to upload and organize

  1. Open Files.
  2. Upload a PDF or spreadsheet.
  3. Create folders by company, theme, or project.
  4. Move files into /app/files/{folderId} so the next attach is obvious.

A tidy pattern: one folder per ticker you actively cover, plus a Projects folder for live decisions.

How to ask Chat about a file

  1. Open AI Chat.
  2. Attach file (or a folder) from the drive.
  3. Ask something bounded: "Summarize this in five bullets with citations to the PDF."
  4. Optionally also attach the company's latest filing.
  5. Ask where the memo and the 10-K disagree.
