How to create price, filing, and news alerts

Set alerts to get notified on price moves, new SEC filings, and breaking news for a single ticker or an entire watchlist.

Alerts notify you when something happens so you do not have to watch the screen. Vantafin supports price alerts, SEC filing alerts, and news alerts, each scoped to a single ticker or an entire watchlist. You manage them from the sidebar at /app/alerts. Alerts are available on Pro and Ultimate.

Create an alert

Price alert

Set a price threshold on AAPL

Open Alerts, choose a price alert for AAPL, and set the level you care about so you get notified when it crosses.

  1. Open Alerts.
  2. Choose the type (price, filing, or news).
  3. Pick a scope: one ticker or a whole watchlist.
  4. For price alerts, set the threshold (and recurrence if you want it to keep firing).
  5. Save. Vantafin notifies you when the condition is met.

Examples

  • Price: alert me when AAPL crosses $250.
  • Filing: alert me whenever any company in my "Core holdings" watchlist files with the SEC. Pair this with Read SEC filings.
  • News: alert me on breaking news for my "Semiconductors" watchlist.

Recurring vs one-time alerts

Cover a whole list with one filing alert

Build or open a watchlist, then create a SEC filing alert scoped to that list instead of one alert per ticker.

Price alerts can be set to recur so they keep notifying you each time the condition is met, or fire once. Choose recurrence based on whether you are watching a level repeatedly or just need a single heads-up.

Manage notification volume

If you follow many tickers, scope alerts to watchlists rather than creating dozens of single-ticker alerts, and reserve news alerts for your highest-conviction names. Each plan has a daily notification limit; Ultimate has the highest. Check limits on the pricing page and monitor usage in Settings.
